Elodie Games has raised $32.5 million in Series A funding to accelerate development on its cross-platform projects.
The funding round was led by Galaxy Interactive and Andreessen Horowitz, with additional support from Patron and Electric Ant.
Elodie was founded in 2019 by Riot veterans Christina Norman and David Banks, and has spent the past two years designing games “for people, not platforms.”
“At Elodie we design games purpose-built for cross-play. Empowering gamers everywhere to play with their friends across any platform, without ever compromising the player experience,” explains the studio, adding that it’s committed to “removing any and all barriers that prevent gamers from playing together.”
To achieve that goal, the California-based studio intends to sustainably accelerate development “within a healthy and inclusive work environment,” and is also keen to expand its team. Notably, the company is expanding under a hybrid work model, and said it will support in-office and remote employees moving forward.
Elodie’s debut title is currently in pre-alpha and will apparently deliver “seamless cross-play” across PC, mobile, and console platforms.
