UI/UX Designer, Sony PlayStation
Location: Bend, Oregon
We are seeking a motivated and talented User Experience Designer to create intuitive, compelling and dazzling interfaces for our games.
As UX designer you will play a pivotal role as to how players experience our games. You will work directly with Design Leads and Directors of the game along with teams in the studio to develop a rich, engaging and accessible game interface. This includes menus, HUD, and in-game UI elements.
Responsibilities:
Translate gameplay high level ideas into visual functional UI designs.
Create traditional HUD/UI elements, Menus and responsive in-world UI.
Be part of the creative meetings and contribute to the overall vision of the game.
Work closely with the programming, art and design teams.
Drive the UI flow and functionality.
Implement UI design/art assets in game.
Work with the Art Director to establish and implement a provocative UI style.
Requirements/Education:
Expert skill level in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
Thorough understanding of UI/UX flow and function design.
Extensive experience generating UI/UX wire frames and prototypes.
Working knowledge of wire framing tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch or similar software.
Technical proficiency implementing UI in a 3D engine environment.
Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve technical challenges.
Works well in a team environment, a team player.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Brings creativity and innovation and passion.
Provide a strong portfolio demonstrating solid UI and graphic design skill.
3+ years’ experience as a UI/UX designer.
Bonus Skills:
Unreal Engine experience, specifically working UMG experience.
Ability to create 3D assets in Maya/3DMax
Proficient in After Effects / Motion Graphics
Traditional Graphic Design / Concept Art skills
Plays and researches video games
