In their panel discussion on “OpenXR News: Converging on a Widely Accepted VR API Standard”, OpenXR working group experts from Epic, Google, Sensics and Valve will provide new updates on the goals, content and status of this critical standards effort, which was launched by the Khronos Group earlier this year.
Joe Ludwig (Valve), Kaye Mason (Google Daydream), Yuval Boger (Sensics) and OpenXR Working Group chair Nick Whiting (Epic Games) will together discuss why AR/VR standards are needed, what the upcoming standard will likely cover on both the application side and the device side, and what the first release won’t likely cover.
One of the key goals of the panel is to help attendees understand how they might want to prepare their hardware or software offering to support this standard. At the end, the panel will gladly answer questions from the audience, so please join them to get your questions answered!
